Constipated baby..help!

Hila dies, Ollie has been constipated for the last week now. I have tried giving him water, rubbing his belly, warm baths what else is there? He wakes himself up crying where it hurts him straining! The last 2 nappies have had hard poos(but I have had to hold his legs and spread his bum-gross I know) I can't do this every time he needs a poo. Will this continue or will he go back to normal?

He is mainly ff but having breast before feeds. I switched his formula 3 days ago to hungry baby I know this will. Make him constipated too...but it was going on before the switch.


What else can I can I do to help him?

My LO hasn't been too constipated but if he hasn't been for a couple of days I find that massage (I love you and sun and moon) helps quite a lot and making bicycle motions with his legs. Is it just water you have been giving? I've been told a little bit of orange juice in the water can help to but I've not tried it. I've also put a bit of Vaseline on his bum to help him poo (not nice but did work).
The other thing that works for D is the bumbo! I'm not sure how old you LO is so don't know if he can go in one yet but almost every time D goes in his he poos! x

Did bicycle motions, and oil on his bum...not tried orange juice though...do you now how much? He's 5weeks today.

I did two tablespoons of orange with 3oz of water or they say brown sugar in warm water is good too x

A couple of drops should do it but make sure it's fresh and not concentrated xx

You could also try some prune juice mixed in with cooled boiled water. Water can still be a little warm, my l/o prefers his water slightly warm, he won drink it cold x

Hope baby is ok, just thought I'd say my friend had this with her lo, and tried sugar water arc, but found that switching the brand of formula helped wonders x

Just wanted to say I so so feel for u! It's awful my baby 16 months and is really bad I identify with spreading legs and bum! We finally have medication as nothing else works! I know yours is only little so apart from everything else a warm soak in bath scooping water over belly! Don't think you're allowed to dilute fresh orange with boiled water are u ? Or I'd try that! But also if it goes on I'd ring HV for advice! Lots of hugs xx
