Lydia has conjunctivitis :( Poor thing her eyes are all filled with ganky yellow stuff and keep getting stuck together. They're all red and sore as well.

She's being sooo brave about having her eye drops. Doesn't make a fuss at all bless her.

I hope it clears up soon. It must be so uncomfortable for her.

Isaac had gunky eyes after he was born. We were told to clean them with cooled boiled water, use one bit of cotton wool per wipe and always wipe from the inner corner outwards. And also use fresh water on each eye so you aren't putting the same water on both eyes.

Looks horrible doesn't it but I don't think it feels as bad as it looks if that's any consolation to you.

Lydia had sticky eyes too when she was born too but it cleared up after a few weeks. This is different it looks red and sore as well as ganky.
She stopped being brave about the eyedrops and now screams blue murder when I do them.

Still they are looking a bit better today :)

Ellie has a sticky eye this morning but i dont think it's bothering her too much, ive cleaned it with cooled boiled water and the midwife is coming in the morning so i'll get her too look at it.

i've had conjunctivitis myself a few times and it's not very pleasant, must be worse for a baby though when you cant explain to them that it will get better.

I didn't realise you were talking about a toddler, sorry  I assume everyone has a newborn on here  I don't blame her for kicking off, eye drops are horrible :(
