Hi

I've joined here in the hope of some advice. My OH and I have been unofficially trying for a few months as didn't want to add pressure by DTD at certain times but this is the first month I've tracked and we've DTD on specific days.

I've always been regular with my periods although this year I've had episodes of flooding and heavy clotting (sorry for the tmi) I've had a scan and tests and apart from thrush everything was clear, saw a gynaecologist who said as my periods are regular and scan clear then nothing to do except manage the flooding etc.

My November AF came on 13th and as I'm every 28 days I believe I Ovulated last Thursday. We DTD on Monday Tuesday and Thursday last week.
Sunday I was surprised to find my bbs sore and Monday I was really suffering pain in my lower left side of back but just thought I'd not been sitting right at work.

To my surprise at about 3pm Monday I noticed I was bleeding, it was watery as a actually felt it come out so went to the loo. For 4-5 hours I had cramps and bleeding that seemed like the start of AF but way too early and I felt sick. I then had nothing but a bit of brown discharge on Tuesday. My normal AF lasts 5/6 days

My eczema has flared up and I'm getting spots and feel general run down.

Have I already stressed my body out and messed my cycle up and should I expect a period st normal time and do I start again with mapping from this bleed or the last proper AF?
I'm confused!

Hiya and welcome.

Could be several things but your bleeding on Monday was 10 days past ov, that is a very common day for implantation (mostly occures 8-10 dpo) and it can cause bleeding.

Sore breasts are caused by progesterone and this is normal in both the run up to AF and in pregnancy so that doesn't really narrow it down!

If it was me I would do a test tomorrow morning, otherwise wait until AF is due and see what happens. Good luck!

Thanks Snowbee

Am I right in thinking if I believe I ovulated on Thursday then the following Monday would be 4DPO or do you count Thursday and Monday would be 5 DPO?

I'm still trying to get my head round it but think that's too early for implantation bleeding and I didn't think implantation bleeding was heavy or red?

Oh sorry I got confused and somehow counted in an extra week, doh! It would be 4 dpo on Monday if you ovd on Thurs. Yes too early for IB, but it can be both heavy and red. Gosh I'm so unhelpful sorry.

Thanks for answering though. I think it just worries me that I've started having changes to my cycles this year and I'm 34 and never been pregnant before although this is the first time I've actually tried.
I had hope when the gynaecologist said the fact that my periods were regular was a good sign and that was only September and now this has happened!
Don't want my doctor thinking I'm after a season ticket but I can't help but worry somethings not right.

When do you turn 35? At 35 if you have been ttc for 6 months you can get tests (bloods and ultrasounds to kick it off, then those will guide you with what to test for next) and those should tell you if you are oving and therefore in with a chance. Your oh will also get a sperm test. Under 35 and it is a year ttc before you can get tests. It is however totally normal for it to take upto a year to conceive, I think 90% of couples do get pregnant in that first year.

I'm also 34, feeling the pressure of age now. We have been ttc for over 3 years so isn't for lack of trying!

I'm just 34 so will have been trying 12 months by time I'm 35 anyway. I think each NHS trust has its own rules too doesn't it? Might check mine out. I realise I still have some way to go and I'm not stressed about not conceiving the first time just more concerned the minute I try abnormal bleeding starts!
I empathise with you, a good friend was trying for 3 years and struggling with her weight to get medical intervention and it was really hard watching her go through that but she got pregnant out the blue on her third year and her little boy just turned two and she's 33 weeks pregnant with their second! Good luck to you x
