Comparing birth experience with your mum

Hey ladies,
was just wondering if anyone knows if your childbirth experiences were really similar to your mums, or if they were completely the opposite?

I'm hoping i'll be able to cope as well as my mum, she had all three children (not all at the same time !) without any pain relief at all and she had all of us in about 6 hours.

My Mums labours where nothing like mine, she had me 8 wks early in the ambulance and in an hour,weighing 4lb 5oz and spent a month in hospital til i made 5lb. my sister she had at home with no pain relief, my brother was her biggest baby at 7lb 7oz again in the ambulance and my little sister was the awkard one and she was born in 4hrs

My Mum got it easy, her eyes popped out when she found out i'd been in labour 19hrs with my first.

NOPE! completely different, she had my brother within an hr and a half, me within 3 and a half, with just gas and air.
I had to be induced and was in labour for 21 hours and I had it all, G and A, pethidine, Epidural, just give me the drugs! cant wait to do it all agian though

I guess mam and I had somewhat similar experiences - although of course there are differences.

My mam was overdue...so was I
My mam was induced...so was I
My mam had the epidural...so did I
My mam tore...so did I (plus I had an episiotomy)
My mam had a big baby (I was 9lbs 4oz)....so did I (my baby was 10lbz 10oz)

But:

My mam had me in the afternoon....I gave birth first thing in the morning
My mam just had my dad there...I had DH plus my mam there
My mam gave birth in a private clinic in Paris...I gave birth in an NHS hospital in Leeds
My mam stayed in for a week after giving birth...I was discharged the next day
my mam ONLY had the epidural...I also had gas and air, and pethidine

Nope my mum was induced, I was 2 weeks overdue, she had an epidural, she was in labour for about 11 hours I think and i was born at 8.20pm

I had nathan 5 weeks early, only had abit of gas and air, was in labour for about 5 hours and Nathan was born at 8.07am

Mine and my mums were quite similer, we both went over and had to get induced and our babies were born facing the wrong way.
