colic?

melissa is very grumpy in the evenings, she cries a lot and straightens her legs- and the only 2 things that stop her are feeding and standing up holding her to my chest (if i sit down she cries!)

my girl friend said it sounds like colic, but i thought it was something only formula-fed babies got so i dont kno much about it.

is it colic and if so what else can i do? my back aches and my nipples are sore!

Breast fedbabies can get colic to, they think its basically just their digestive system adjusting to getting milk (formula or breast).

To be honest It doesnt sound like colic to me because most babies will develop it veryyoung and it usually goes by about 3 months (millies age now).

It could be teeth, i know youve suspected it but they can bother them for a few months before they pop through, Evie still hasent got any teeth yet but shes had all the symptoms for about 2 months .

sorry im not much help hun, maybe you could call your HV and ask what her opinion is. I hope it stops soon, it seem to be not only distressing the little lady but her mummy too .

my eldest had colic and she was 100% breast fed. I was told to cut dairy from my diet, it worked a treat-

I don't think she has colic either trixipaws I have replied to your other post, I know it's hard but you're doing great, it will be worth it once she gets through this stage and settles down

Ellie had colic and was 100% breast feed but it started when she was 3 weeks and stopped when she was 3months. However she started getting pains from her teeth at 3months, though she didn't cut her first tooth until about 9months! She still only has 3 teeth that have broken through and none are fully grown.
