Just wondered when colic passed for your baby & did it just stop all of a sudden or ease gradually?

Hi Jo!

I voted other.....Mhairi didn't have colic, but I did and my mum said it all of a sudden stopped dead on 5 months old!

xxx

heya,
Ava had colic from about 2 weeks old until she was 15 weeks, was a nightmare, she had it day and night, and nothing worked until the h/v sugested peppermint tea watered down which eased it (didnt cure) we only found that out at 3 months...but maybe it wasnt the tea working maybe it was settling... i dont remember it actually stopping but her attacks become less and less until one day i thought Ava hasnt been colicy :) what a relief!!
does ur lo have it?

Yeah shes been really bad with it but the past couple of days its really eased, im thinking its just a good spell and it will come back with a vengance but just wondered what happened with other people!

awww you may be one of the lucky ones, My friend kellys lo only suffered for a few weeks and it disapeared, its horrible isnt it, i remember walking around the flat with her in her sling crying with her!!
fingers crossed its gone :)

Yep been there

Well we changed from colief back to infacol to give it a try again and since then shes been alot better, she just had it for a few hours last night instead of ALL day and being in loads of pain... fingers crossed thats helping and carries on working but im not holding my breath just yet  :)

My h/v said Ava had it because she was bottle fed, but my friend kellys lil one was breastfed and he still had it!!
Colief worked for us for a while then it stopped, infacol for a while then we tried gripe water, i know my h/v reccomended fennell tea, but that made her sicky we bought the hipp one think its from 3 months
I must say that since we have weaned her she has got even better with colic and trapped wind, I never thought the colic would end, but it does, sounds like ur lo has/had it as bad as ava did constantly crying all day in such a horrible pain way broke my heart :( xxxxxxxxxx

Yeah it breaks my heart to see her crying in pain and not being able to make it all better, poor things! Colief worked for a bit with us too but then seemed to stop so we're back on infacol and it seems to be helping her bring up her wind after feeds... How do you give fennel tea?

Im breastfeeding and thought that breastfed babies didnt get colic but thats defo not true!

Aww im glad Ava is alot better now, colic is evil poor things!

the fennel was a t-bag which u brew in the babys cool boiled water, smells delish :)
Id never heard of colic until i had ava lol i took her to see my gp about 4 times because i thought all sorts! we now are contending with teething, shes a propper grump today lil minx xxxxxxxx
hope your bubba is over it, i know exactly how horrid it makes you all feel  x

i put 12-14 weeks...shes even started to bring her own wind up now :cheer:

I voted other coz im still waiting with Ky he'll have a good day then the next he's screaming and cant bring up his wind. Nightmare sometimes :x he is much better then when he was a newborn. Just taking it a day at a time!
