i've got a coldsore, so i went to tesco & got their cheapy version of zovirax. later on that night my dad text me asking if i'd had that baby yet, i text him back saying 'no, but i've got a coldsore' lol, and my step-mum who's a nurse bollocked me for using cold sore cream cause i'm pregnant?

i had no idea?!

I havent heard of that either!? I bet most women dont know not to use it?!?!

This is what it says on Net Doctor for Zovirax

This medicine should be used with caution during pregnancy, and only if the expected benefit to the mother is greater than any possible risk to the foetus. Seek medical advice from your doctor.

This medicine may pass into breast milk, but in such small quantities that it is unlikely to harm the baby. Seek medical advice from your doctor before breastfeeding

I was given Zovirax to use when I had a coldsore on my eye at about 28 weeks. Not sure about other coldsore creams but I doubt they'll cause any harm unless you're drinking it!

that's what i thought!i just said to her a bit of cream on my lip isn't gonna kill a fully cooked baby!

bloody hell what else cant we use now, i suppose they only put that on to cover themselves though.
