closing ceremony

I'm not impressed. It has gone for the easy option of leaning on the Beatles a lot (and as I'm sure you can tell, I love the Beatles), repeating songs (we have a rich and wonderful musical heritage - why not use that?) and two of my favourite songs have been butchered in completely unnecessary covers.

I feel totally confused by it, not part of it.

Eric Idle was completely the highlight of it.

Don't understand why they hadto repeat music!

I just wish they'd get on with it!

I'm assuming there are fireworks to come and I like fireworks so in waiting ... Impatiently

Please excuse any typos from my fat fingers!
Tapatalk madness!

I thought it was quite good considering I wasn't expecting much of the closing ceremony lol

I nearly cried when I saw Gary Barlow on the stage, with everything he's going through right now, and he still stood up there and sang his heart out. I found it very emotional!

Was underwhelmed and confused at times.

Yes, why were Madness songs being repeated?! Emelie Sandi is a talent, considering she sang live but BIG mistake opening with her. I wanted impact, not to be bored within 2 minutes.

The Beatles are icons so will always be part of showcasing British talent. I love them too so was more comfortable with that tribute over Paul's singing during the opening ceremony. I thought Yoko's tribute was touching to John.

Also loved the section with Freddy Mercury, could have left Jessie J out of it though. Did anyone notice her bum was just out when she first came out?!!!

What on earth was George doing singing that second song? Not the time to plug a new song....I was thinking stop messing around and just sing Wham for goodness sake.

Spice Girls, loved them when I was younger so enjoyed the nostalgia but was thinking why isn't Geri wearing her union jack outfit!! She wasted her moment lol

The supermodels...just why?

Think the dancers during the performance of Queen should have been wearing illuminous paint rather than naff 80's clothes to emphasise their dance moves and again for impact. It just looked messy to me.

Not a complete failure but not fantastic and didn't impress me like the opening ceremony. I soooo think I could be a artistic director hahaha

xx

I cried wen Gary barlow sang, could just imagine he sang it for his daughter, take that were brilliant as always!
I watched it to see the spice girls because I was a big fan when I was younger but wasn't impressed with them at all:(
Agree Queen without Jessie J would of been better,Eric Idle was brilliant & also quite enjoyed Russell brand & fatboy slim!
