Hiya, it’s been a while but some of you may remember me from the past couple of years. My AF is now 291 days late. I have been referred to gynae and my Fallopian tubes are clear but I had an abnormally thin endometrial lining and multiple immature follicles to both ovaries which are both enlarged, this would normally indicate PCOS however my hormone levels did not collaborate this, i was just a little low on eostrogen levels. So they have tried me with clomid to try to get my cycle back up and running as the hormone tablets they normally use didn’t work. I am effectively CD18 if the clomid has worked and I have had EWCM for the past couple of days and some lower abdominal twinges however I’ve had this happen a few times but found it’s been a false alarm. So we have BDd in a relaxed fashion since about CD9 in case they have stimulated anything but I am doubtful - I have 2 more tries left of stronger dosages before they effectively give up and refer me for IVF (which i might not meet the criteria for). So that’s why I’ve been AWOL for so long as nothing’s happening!

Anyone have any experiences of clomid who could offer me any insights at all?

Hey hun, so sorry to see this.

I've not been on clomid myself but I hope this cycle works out for you xx

For me clomid made my lining thinner than normal so that would be something to keep an eye on if yours is already thin. Good luck

Also, you can use northesterone to bring on a bleed. My GP only thought it was for stopping bleeding but it can be used for both...

Thanks Millie all the best for your TTC journey xxx

Thanks sugar pop I didn’t know that, well I doubt clomid could make it much worse as it’s pretty much non existent in terms of thickness so hopefully all clomid could do is keep it the same. I tried northesterone with no response several months ago unfortunately. My body is a medical mystery! Xx

What a nightmare af going awol for you. I did 7 rounds of clomid. I got on ok with it, it made me ovulate. I did 6 rounds at 100 and one at 125. What dose are you on? I hope the ewcm and twinges are good signs for you, are they giving you follicle tracking scans? They really should to check that the dose is correct for you.

Hi Broody2013

I'm playing the Clomid game at the moment too.

Did they start you on Clomid without an AF then? And what mg are you on?

Did they tell you what day to count the first day as? I've read various answers from 2, 3 and 5!

Are you having any scans or day 21 blood tests?

Xx

Hi Mrsablett, yeah well it’s been 11 months now and they’ve done various tests scans and medication trials with no luck so clomid is our last attempt to set my cycles back before we are referred to the fertility clinic. I just took one and the first day was classed as CD2, I took 50mg from CD2-6, day 21 and 28 bloods (the day 28 will be taken Wednesday) but no scan booked which I think is not normal however my whole situation isn’t normal lol so I can’t really judge what’s meant to be happening or not. I hope clomid works for you, if you have any questions the Dr who issued them should really answer them for you as it’s horrible if you don’t have all the information you need. Fingers crossed for you Hun, we’re nearly 3 years down the line now of the TTC journey, how long have you been TTC? Xxx

I'm very very fortunate to have had my son three years ago on Clomid (8 rounds 50-150mg).

Never been told to start a round without AF first and consultant never replied to my email with the questions.

Day 33 for me today and no signs of Ov or AF. BFN two days ago.

Keep us updated on your blood results! X

Hi Broody. How have you found your first round of clomid? I'm on a really small dose (25mg) because I do ovulate on my own (they think!) but I've found the side effects quite unsettling...

I took it days 2-6 (it's day 6 today) and our plan is to have IUI so long as my next scan shows the lining didn't thin too much. I'm surprised they're not scanning you to check the lining, but I don't know much about clomid really, I think my scan is to help time the IUI.

Hi broody I’m on 50 mg of clomid days 2-6 as well and done 4 cycles it hasn’t regulated my cycles much and no bfp so far if enjst been prescribed another 3 months of clomid at the same doseagw and a 28 day blood test no scan for me either, I’m currently on cd 30, the lining of my womb was very thin as my periods were like yours they used norethisterone to sort of make it happen now being on clomid it has thinned my lining again so I’ve now been given the clomid plus the norethisterone to take during my cycle it’s very frustrating I hope your clomid works for you x

If you aren't being offered scans I really would spend the money on a private set of follicle tracking scans. It would be money well spent if it highlights an issue that is solved before moving to IVF and the expense that brings. Private tracking scans are £180 near me for as many scans as you need for one cycle.

Between scans and blood tests that is really the only way you know if clomid is working for you at that dose, or if it needs changing.

If you are worried about your lining thinning too much you can always take a break and have one cycle off. My lining is always on the thin side, I took a cycle off after 6 cycles to try to let my lining recover a bit. I got my bfp on cycle 7, the first cycle after my break.
