Hi everyone !

I’m going through my 3rd cycle of clomid at 100 mg. I ovulated on my 2nd cycle of 100 mg and used the Clearblue opk to help. I got a flashing smiley on day 14 and a steady smiley on day 15! I was beyond ecstatic because I have PCOS and was so looking forward to finally coniceving After two years of trying but then I got AF I was truly devastated!

During this cycle, I have been getting flashing slmileys from day 14 to 20 which I felt was way longer than normal. Then I ran out of the Clearblue tests so I opened a new kit and did the test today day 21 and it’s a blank smiley! I’m so confused what does this mean? Any experiences with this?

We have been “trying” every other day since day 13 to make sure we haven’t missed my ovulation. Any advice? This is driving me crazy!

Hi Sara, did you use a new test holder with the new test sticks? If so it will almost always register the very first time you use it as a blank circle. If you were to test again now it may show you a flashing smiley or solid smiley.
That's the only frustrating thing with the clearblue opks. If you do have to get a new pack in future (but hopefully u won't need to) continue go use the old test stick holder. Hope this helps. Good luck on your ttc journey x

You can use the same test holder with sticks from the new pack. If you start a new test holder it will be a circle as the new one is establishing your baseline.

Also once u have flashing smileys you can test anytime of day so do a new test in the old holder today.

Guys I read your messages late. I had thrown away the old holder yesterday. I tried again with the holder I did yesterday and it’s a blank circle. I’m utterly disappointed. I wonder if I have missed ovulation. We were trying every other day. :(

I tried a cheap opk, for the first time. Any idea what it means?

To be + the line has to be the same darkness or darker. So I would say you are close.

However, if you have PCOS (I know from experience) that OPKs can show you ‘fear up’ for ovulation but I know I never actually ovulated. Would always gear up but never actually ovulate.

Thank you.
As I never got a Peak, I’m wondering whether or not I ovulated. I’m confused whether to keep trying or not.

Do you still have EWCM or has it gone white and thick? (You don't have to answer that!) If it's the latter then you have probably ovulated. Another good way to know is whether you get a period, as no ovulation means no normal period. A peak is just the darkest line for you - my fertility doc said it doesn't have to be as dark as the test line as long as there is a surge. Temping is a good way to know if you have ovulated in the future. That could have been your surge in which case keep going!!

If you are not sure you could just dtd every other day for a while.
