The supermarket sweep post has given me an idea for a topic, so do you have any claims to fame?

Mine are:

My nans cousin is David Frost (yeah really related quite closely arnt we :rotfl: )

I was in a band with the bass player from Anti-Nowhere-League (be surprised if anyones heard of them though :rotfl: )

Think thats about it, maybe my illusions of grandeur arnt quite justified

I've been on TV a few times, crappy programmes, exta work in Crow Road & Take the High Road (both filmed in Scotland) oh and I sang with my school choir on channel 4 once and had my picture taken on holiday with Richard Branson - pretty crappy claims to fame really!!

I used to work with a girl who was the lead singer in Fuzzbox (I've got a fuzzbox & I'm not afraid to use it ) - mainly known for their song 'Pink pink Sunshine' from back in the 80's.

When I was a restaurant manager one of my regular customers was Andy Gray - ex-footballer & commentator, who new me by name & who's car my dad used to repair when he worked in a garage opposite the villa ground (back in the day)

Don't know if those count?

Oh, and not quite in the same fame league at all....but:

My DF is the DJ in Hollyoaks (Dex)

I used to live in the area were the James Herriot programmes were filmed. And some of Robin hood prince of thieives..

If you've seen the Take That Live show that's on recently (the stadium one), at one point in the show there's a crazy looking guy like a mad scientist on the stage, (while Take that are hooked upto machines making the ultimate boy band) I know that scientist guy...His name is Graham !!

My other cousin used to teach physics to Charlotte Church

My big claim to fame tho is that I have met Buzz Aldrin (even played a round of golf with him)... he went to school with my hubbys godfather in the states... he is lovely. Did anyone see him on TV the other night on Al Murray. He is so funny.

I also met Kelly Clarkson, Marti Pellow, Paddy from emmerdale (was an arsehole!!) Jermey Clarkson, Tony Blair (when I was at school he came to ours before being elected... he got so much stick!), the queen and princess margaret

I work in childcare at the moment, but I used to work in lots of bars and venues and clubs and stuff.
I met Noah Wiley while when I went on a tour of Warner Brothers Studios in LA

hehe!! My hubby used to live in the middle east when he was little due to his dad's work. Anyway they used to get invited to all sorts of fancy places as his dad was president of an oil company.

Well when he was about 4yr they were invited to attend something at some palace and there were some pretty impertant world leaders there... anyways... he befriended this other wee boy (who was about the same ages as him) and they went round causing havoc... putting there fingers in the cream cakes and be typical (spoilt! hehe) little boys... until they were given in to trouble by the huge angry guy.... guess who it was.... not a nice person.... Idi Amin!!

Here goes ten

I have met John Barnes (footballer) in a swimming pool.

One of my old friends sisters used to help with the training of the england football team.

The bloke on the more than adverts I have met him.

Quite poor claims to fame. I need to get out more

I've had tea in 10 downing street with John Major - i was part of a save the children delegation that went to talk about the UN declaration on the rights of the child, my name is on the bill.

I was the youngest person at the time (its been beaten now) to speak in the European Parliament, i was 12 (again with save the children charity)

I've met loads of famous people at save the children functions. I gave a speech in Buckingham palace (princess Ann is the STC patron) and John Cleese came up to me afterwards to tell me he thought i was very good. I was about 14.

I was on songs of praise too

My husbands mum knows Dermat O'Leiry (sp?)'s parents, lol.

I have Nick Baker from the Really Wild Show's autograph :D

DH has a photo of the spice girls signed by Victoria Beckham (in her maiden name tho, lol)

I was on the news once (local). There was a Dormouse tea party at our local wood ^_^ Was also in the local paper from when I got Nick Baker's autograph. We made a wicker hut in the wood ^_^ I was about 10 though, lol.

My sister's ex wrote a song for Maroon 5 (i think. she doesnt like to talk about him, lol)

I've seen the Queen & her hubby (from like 5metres, lol)

DH has shaken the hands of: Jordi Cruyff (jr), David Ginola, all the spice girls, David Seaman, various other footballers, lol.

He's touched *the* thomas the tank engine, as in the one that was in the show, not the tourist ones they've made since ^_^

Damn him, lol, not.

Can't believe I dont have any more :(

Oh, and I swear I'm related to Jane Seymour, as in Henry VIII's wife. Her family came from the same area my grandad's did, and his family name is Seymour.

I'm so lame

There is an piece like this thread in Viz (OH leaves it in the bathroom, I have to look at it), it is a good idea...although Viz ones are really silly, like My best mate's mum's brother's dog once sniffed Michael Palin's sister's dog...etc.

I have very little claim to fame, although I did once get very drunk at a corporate day out at Newcastle Racesourse. I gate crashed the ajoining marquee and kissed half of the Newcastle United team including Alan Shearer. Classy bird.

My OH's cousin is an actor in the west end. He went to stage school with Michelle Heaton and lived with her when she was in Liberty X. He is also very good 'friends' with Brian Dowling.
