Well...

Up until this weekend, we pretty much had all of the christening plans sorted! God parents picked, food and cake sorted, venue booked and paid for etc...

One of the godparents is/was my best friend - we have known each other for a long time and were still pretty close when i asked her! The thing is, we have grown apart ALOT since i got pregnant and had my little girl so i was kind of regretting asking her and wanted to ask someone else who has been there pretty much from the word go... my lg is happy with her and she knows her etc...

Ive tried ringing my friend to explain to her that maybe its not a good idea but shes not answering so i have text her...

Has anyone else had a last minute change of plan with godparents and how did the original ones take the news? My friend still hasnt replied and my partner has told me to just leave it and let her get in touch as i have explained how i feel and it wasnt in a nasty way either...

Im just worried that shes really p*ssed off her off as i still want her to be at the christening but i dont think she is going to come :(

Sorry for the rant!

im guessing its a bit late, but could you not have had them both.

If she doesnt reply id be tempted to phone her again, there are soooo mnamy ways a text message can be mis-read. xxx

Well ive just phoned the vicar and he said that its fine so thats not an issue now thankfully..

My reasoning behind it is the fact that when i asked her we were really close but we have drifted apart loads... to the point where i dont even know if she has a boyfriend cos we dont speak that often... work plays a huge part in that but still...

And the fact that my LG doesnt know her aswell, so i dont want her as a godparent... ive tried ringing her a couple of times yesterday and text and got nothing :(

Just wanted to know if anyone else had been in this situation...
