We think Ryan's got it :( In fact we're pretty damn sure. Just to let you know it's probably doing the rounds :(

We're in for a fun week :(

x

Oh no! Poor Ryan! What are his symptoms?
Hope he is better soon. Poor little thing. xx

Red spots that are like blisters that are raised and look like they got stuff in them like when we get foot blisters from bad shoes... he's got them under his hair (what he has of it) and on his chest and sides. I looked it up in the baby medical book and it looks like either chickenpox or foot and mouth, so I'm guessing chickenpox lol.

foot and mouth is doing the rounds in tamworth,my friends little boy had it a few weeks ago. either way hope ryan is better soon.

jesus really?

whats the treatment for foot and mouth? im guessing calpol wont do the job

Tom had hand, foot & mouth when he was about 5 months. Initially they thought it was meningitis so we were admitted to hospital and he was pumped full of antibiotics. Turns out it was HF&M. Basically a virus so just dose him up with Calpol/Nurofen and wait for it to go. It can put them off their food and drink because they can get blisters in their mouths. Tom had them on his throat.
Tom's blisters were really tiny. They were on the soles of his feet and on his hands and fingers. He got a rash (but no blisters) all up his legs and some on his body too. The rash was non-blanching which is why they thought it might be meningitis.
I'd get the doctor to look at him either way if I were you.
Hope he's better soon, poor little chap. Lxx

It's ok, I'm glad you mentioned it cos I wouldn't have taken it seriously otherwise.. didn't realise it was something that actually happens if that makes sense.

Aw ds had chicken pox just before his birthday. I'm not sure what the minimum age for it is but see if he can have piriton because I'm sure that's what cleared ds's up so quickly.

It's horrible, I hope it isn't bothering him too much. Get well soon Ryan!

Ooh good call I hadn't thought of that.

mrs tommo, he's just in a baby gro with the top two buttons undone. He's not at the scratching them stage just yet, but he was quick to scream about his nappy needing changing cos hes got one big juicy zit one just above his thingy and it was getting irritated by pee :( it's gotta suck not being able to explain whats up. we tried the calamine lotion too, doesn't seem to have done a lot but thats what parents do on chicken pox isn't it.. lol

I'll have a piroton hunt I think once I look up minimum age.

Just googled it and appears its for age 6+ :? and other antihistamines have to be prescribed by a doctor? :?

Surely that can't be right

there is a junior one, from 1 yr +

also get some porridge oats, put in muslin tied at top with string and pop into his bath, and rub muslin bag onto his skin, relieves itching. they don't recommend calamine anymore.
