Hi :)

Did any of you have a health check before trying to conceive? I tried to concieve this month for the first time but unfortunately it hasn't worked. I haven't been for a check up but wonder whether I should do because of the following:

For a few years now, when I have my period, I bleed from both places!! and have thought for a while that maybe I have mild endometriosis. I have been to a GP twice now about this and they don't believe me!! Now you would think that I know my own body well enough to know that this is not blood quote slipping from the front to the back unquote  !!!! They tell me I have to make an appointment when I have a periiod so that they can check themselves!!!   !!!!! How bloody humiliating and embrassing is that!!

What do you think I should do? Try and conceive for a few months and then if it doesn't work, go to the docs again?

I would push it with the doctors... I mean don't stop TTC cos you could be lucky and fall.
But i saw the both places thing on Holby City, and its just a piece of skin that seperates the two paths... and all they did was sew it back up.
She was too scared to speak to a doctor and had lived her whole life with it.

It may sound silly cos i'm referring to a tv programme - but i do believe that the things they cover in holby people must relate to... That episode particularly touched me!

I would definately push it with them, even if it means having to go back when AF is there! Be brave for the cause and all that!

And Welcome to the Forum

Its worth going for pre pregnancy check up anyway, they carry out a series of blood test to check that all is ok, like your blood count, anemia, MMR etc. if i were you i would def push it with the docs and get it seen to, as you say you know your body, not right for them to question you! good luck x

I got blood tests done for rubella and chicken pox to check my immunity, i ended up having to get the mmr again and wait 3 months for that to take effect.

Thanks everyone. I think I will go for checkup. It's horrible, isn't it, waiting for your period to come and willing it not to? :shhh: ...I like all these little faces!!!

We've just been on holiday and I found myself wanting to buy a bucket and spade for my little kiddy - 'cept I don't have one yet

So bored with my job as well :bored: :bored: :bored: :bored:

AG - I actually remember that episode! How sad are we. I avidly watch Holby to laugh at how unrealistic it is but end up hooked on the story lines!

Anyway, I did go to the docs before TTC and they just said go for it!

As for the other thing you mentioned (and I hope this doesn't sound horrible - its not meant to!), but are you 100% sure its not your AF thats gone 'round the back'? Do you bleed from there at any other time of the month?

If it is rectal bleeding, it needs investigation so make another appt!

Good luck

Hi

Proper clots, like period- just happened again now again. It only happens when I have a period.
