Right Girls I am skint!!! and need some dinner ideas for not a lot of money..... plus i am vegi, soz!! hehe

I am going to get lots of pasta sauce etc in shopping but does anyone else know cheap dinners

xxxxx

jacket spudz + fillings... cheese? beans? vegetable chilli or cury? etc

cheesy beano - very filling. Supernoodles on toast, jacket potatoes, veggie sausages and mash.

Soup! Can't beat soup for filling you up and it's cheap to make! :D

S. xx

I love veggie sausages & mash - yum yum lots of gravy...mmmmmm might have to nip to sainsbury's after work!!!

Beans on toast (add a bit of tabasco to the beans to make it taste more exciting), instead of paying for pasta sauces, use tins of soup (tomoto is obviously the best for this, but I use veggie soup sometimes too) - it costs half the price of a pasta sauce and is yummy!

Get an onion, pepper and a tin of tomatoes for your pasta sauce - will taste much nicer f you fry the first two and then add the second, plus you will get a lot more. You could even throw in some garlic  lol. You could get one bag of lentils, cook them and mix in one fried onion, marmite and tomato puree to taste, breadcrumbs (make from cheap loaf of bread), and then roast - you can even put some potato's in and have roasties to go with. Tin of kidney beans, plus fried onions, peppers and any other veg, chilli powder to taste and a tin of tomato's makes a nice chili which you can have with rice - all pretty cheap, I used to eat for about a fiver a week on Sainsbury's basics like this lol. Oooooooo sometimes I would make lentil burgers (just fry the mix, instead of baking it, and eat with any salad if I could afford it, plus basics cheese and bread, made lovely burgers!

It was on the menu tonight
haha
Toad in the hole tomorrow!!
i do enjoy my home made toad in the hole!!

beans on toast with cheese - yum!!! even nicer with a bit of marmite on the toast first, and if you've got a few mushrooms you can fry and put on top.
make big things in bulk that will last a few days, like a big pasta bake or vegi shepherds pie - realeat vegi mince only about £2 per bag and you can bulk it out loads with onions carrots and peas so only use half the bag of mince.
and big pots of vegi stew and dumplings
ooh really making myself hungry now
sounds like there's quite a few of us veggies on here - gingerpig, like all your ideas with lentil bakes and burgers.
