I've got a 15 week old baby who is starting to get a little bit big to lie down in his pram. I was just wondering what the recommended age/size is for then to go to a sitting up position or if anyone has done it at this age?x

Hi Rachel, if I remember right we moved our little Girl into the sit up part of the pram at around this age. She used to cry when we laid her down in the carry cot part, I think she thought we were trying to make her go to sleep. When she had her pram suit on she was almost filling it too.

She's also very nosy and wanted to look at everything and couldn't do this laid down.

I don't know what the recommendations are we just thought she looked comfortable and although the straps didn't fit snugly we felt she was safe when strapped in.

I cant even remember when I did this.. was definitely a long time ago! Hes 9 months now. Im sure I did it around 10/12 weeks old. He became so nosy, and was happier slightly upright, still facing me. I only turned him to forward facing at 8 months old.. now that was a scary moment! haha

Our pram can change so that he is facing me sat up. He used to sleep the whole time in his pram but he wakes more now when he is in it and starts to winge cause he can't see. I might try him in it for a quick walk down the village and see how he gets on x

We switched ours at 4 months, although in the most reclined position still. She had plenty of space in her pram but hated lying in it and was much happier once she could see around her.

The seat part of ours said not to use it for babies under six months, don't know if it's the same for all of them though.

I think we moved our son into it about two weeks before that because he didn't fit in the carrycot part any more; we kept it on the most reclined position though.

He's just too wide to fit in the insert. He can still lie down just as flat as it's the same part. He seemed to really like it sitting up plus he is strapped in more securely x

I think we switched at 4 months too and on the most reclined setting. Our seat said not before 6 months too but there was no way he was still fitting into the carrycot

I still used the carry cot with DS, but "propped" him up at one end so he could see out.

I'm not sure what age I moved him to full upright, as I used a sling 99% of the time, but I think if LO is "nosy" enough to be trying to look around, and gets grumpy being laid down, I'd switch to upright. Xx
