I've been taking cerazette for 3 weeks now and just wondered if I'm having side effects from it? They started a week ago, I'm really emotional at the moment, stroppy with my DH and LO and just can't be bothered, almost remiscent of PMT but it's lasting longer. I used to take microgynon and had absolutely no probs with it. My moods were so much better with microgynon. How long will it take for it to settle down?

Anyone? I feel like a billy no mates here

Going to docs on weds for unrelated issue so hopefully I'll remember to ask then :D

cerazette must be really strong i was on it for all of one day lol but it made me so sick like morning sickness! i went on noriday and was fine. then back on cilest after i finished BFing.

I'd be interested to read other's experineces with Cerazette. I've been on it since giving birth (was on microgynon too before getting pregnant). I get on well with it in so far as I have absolutely no bleeding, not even spotting, no headaches, etc.

But I think it's had a huge negative effect on my libido. Has anyone else had this problem?

Not sure about mood swings, although since giving birth, I do argue with my DH much more than before. So maybe it has had an effect.

I just never know what's normal and what may be down to the pill.

Hated it. I constantly felt like I had PMS and had a dreadful time - like KJ I'm not sure if that was the pill or just me since giving birth but I'm definitely having less mood swings than when I was on it. I had a period, nothing for 6 weeks then bled for several weeks until I decided to stop taking it. My GP said that with Cerazette it's often the case that you bleed constantly or not at all.

Genuinely I'll be a thumbs up for cerazette.

Microgynon was great, first pill I had, and then I came off it when I split with a boyfriend and went back on it about 6months later and it made my stomach really bad - I didn't throw it up or anything, just felt really sick and nauseous all the time. Switched to a nasty one Celest which gave me awful headaches and more of the same stomach pain.. went back on microgynon and put up with the side effects. Eventually went onto a minipill (cant remember the name) but nobody told me it didnt have a 12 hour window, so then I got pregnant... lol

After Ryan I had a 2 day fling with a Mirena Coil which had to be removed.. and after that I put up with minipill Cerazette. I was bleeding and depressed for about 2 and a half months but since then it's been great and both me and OH say it's the best pill I've ever been on and I'm gonna stick with it. Obviouly everybody s different but I'm happy with it. I hated it for literally 3 months, and went back to the doctors complaining about the amount I was bleeding (like a period every day for a month) but she told me to bear with it, and to be fair to her she was right. After that long bleed, I only get a light period and it's pretty short too, 2 or 3 days, and it's usually in the middle of the last week of tablets on a strip. x

I love it too! It took about 8 weeks for me to settle down, i was having mood swings and almost constantly bleeding but since then its been great. Im really glad i stuck with it now because it suits me really well.

It stopped my periods completely, which resulted in me peeing on sticks lots, just to be sure. Wasn't helped by all the PMS symptoms on top of it. When I came off it in order to ttc, it took ages until I had my first period (were using condoms until them) and I felt kind of wrong, as if my body wasn't doing what it was supposed to do. Don't think I want to use it after pregnancy. I'd love to go for the nuva ring again, but I'm not sure whether it's available in the UK yet
