Hi lovlies,
I had to do shifting yesterday and that got me into lifting some heavy boxes around 15kg ish. I dint realise the intensity of my situation and went in with the flow of work.Later, i read its not recommanded to lift weights and now i m freaking out. Am i thinking too much as i also feel sharp coming and going pain in the left side near abdomen?

P.s. 16 weeks pregnant

I wouldn’t worry to much about it. Did you feel like you totally exhausted yourself or lifted out your strength range?
People can still lift weights in the gym etc when pregnant.
How’s the pain? Has it eased? You can always call your midwife for advice but I’m sure the pain will settle and baby will be fine. Maybe just don’t do it again for your own sanity! Xxx

Lifting is not a problem during pregnancy as long as you squat and lift and not bend your back and lift from your hips. Lifting from your lower back/hips is never good actually, even when not pregnant.
Don't continue lifting if you have SPD as it can worsen. I used to lift weights when pregnant with DD and had severe SPD, it would get so bad that I could barely walk from my bed to the toilet during the night. I used to deadlift 55kg but now I limit myself to 10kg because I don't want to experience the pain anymore.
The sharp pain can just be your ligaments protesting, but it will pass. If it is persistent and sharp, I would have it checked out, but I'm sure the pain will be better after a good night's sleep!x

Most of the risk is you you not the baby. Your joints aren't as strong in pregnancy due to the relaxin so you are more likely to hurt yourself than baby. Don't worry but look after yourself!
