Car seats??

Kieron's 5 1/2 months old and weighed over 9kg a month ago and is too big for the first stage car seat-he's all crumpled up in it. What age can I put him in the next stage? I've got a really expensive maxi-cozi 1 but it's from 9months-4 yearsand only forward facing. Do u think itl b ok??

I wanna put Oz fwd facing, but he was still just under 9kg last week.

It's more about weight and being able to sit unaided, if he is over the weight and can sit unsupported for 30 mins then he can go forward facing. I think the sitting up is important as if u were to crash then he would have the head support so he wouldn't damage his neck x
