having some problems with James in his car seat. He has started to hate it and I think its because in all honesty, its a bit on the small side for him!! Its not gonna be long before he has outgrown it and I imagine it will be well before the 6 month mark which is when they are allowed a stage 2.

Has anyone got any ideas whether they do bigger stage 1 carseats for oversized babies like my little man??! Cos otherwise I aint gonna be able to take him out in the car which would be a total nightmare.

Is the 6 month thing just a guideline or is it law?

Cheers!

right jen. get him in the seat and take a photo of him..

my advise would be to get a birth to 4 years carseat tbh.. u can just not have to worry aobut it then.. and in all honesty they arnt that more expensive than a 9 months-4yrs seat..

9 months plus he needs to have good head control sit unaided and be more than 20lb

i hear this is the best birth to 4 years seat..

http://www.mothercare.com/gp/product/B0 ... 1&mcb=core and its only 99 quid thats really cheap for a carseat

OO thanks Lisa. I will get him in there in a bit and take a photo! Im not sure how much he weights but he was 18lb something at 8 weeks and he is now 15 weeks so he is definitely well over 20lb!! He has decent head control but cant sit up unaided yet.

I will show DH the link you have posted and we will probably get that.

Cheers hun!

We have the Britax seat for Jacob and I would really recommend it :D

It's currently rear facing in the back of our car. I have an infant carrier that I have borrowed from my SIL for when I go out in other peoples cars and Jacob hates that but he's fine in his own car seat, it must be because there is more room for him and he's more comfy!

I can't believe James was 18lb at 8 weeks  You must have arms like popeye!!! Bless him :D

lelands got the 0-4 graco junior at grandmas its great and mega comfy and suitable from birth to 4 years

George has been in his 0 - 4yrs car seat for a couple of weeks now - much more space :)

i think we might have to get one tbh.. i still ahve charls 9m-4y seat here.. was just gonna sue that.. but.. by the way this lil porkers going he might need to go into a 0-4
