Jax was 8 months on Sunday. He is still in his first rear facing car seat. Only problem is for about 4 weeks now, he has been kicking and pushing his feet against the back of the seat in the car and tipping his car seat up so that by the time I get to my destination, it is totally upright, he is hanging forward and the only thing holding him in is the harness. Sometimes he has fallen asleep like this and his poor head and neck has been hanging forward and lolling around

So, do you think it would be safer to move him up to the next chair (forward facing) now? He is a chunky baby so I'm pretty such he'll be there weight wise. We live in Guernsey in the Channel Islands and the speed limit here is 35mph so we're not driving really fast.

He can't go on like that anyway! Little monkey lol.
You'd either need to get a larger rear facing one or take the plunge and go forward facing. As you say it's hardly as if you're travelling fast over there x

It goes more on weight and where his head is, however, as princess said, you cannot go on like he is.

Do you already have the next stage car seat? If not you could look at one that is a group 0-3 so can start off rear facing then turn it round at a later stage if you would still like him rear facing.

I personally would get the next stage up and take the plunge as even if he is not quite ready it will be a lot more safer than what he is doing.

You have one strong babba!!

On tapatalk so can't see tickers :-(
Excuse the typos, phone has mind of its own.

Yes, I already have two of the group 1 Britax forward facing reclining seats from my previous lo so I didn't really want to have to buy another one inbetween seeing as he is so close to being able to go in the ff one anyway.

Think I will just bite the bullet and go for it. Thanks ladies x

Just been speaking to my health visitor about this and she says it's all about the weight not the age of the baby, so if he's big enough to turn somersaults he's probably heavy enough for the next one!

Got my car seats out last night and washed all the covers and straps. Weighed Jax this morning and he weighs 9.4kgs so he's over the recommended weight - we put him in the group 1 car seat this morning and he was absolutely chuffed to bits. As its forward facing and much higher, he can see so much more. He had a huge grin on his face - so cute.
