Finally getting round to doing one this weekend and need lots of tips cos I've got loads to get rid of! Going to make up some flApjacks and stuff to draw people in and read somewhere to put some water down for dogs so they'll drag their owners over  anything else I should be doing?!

You wont be able to sell the flapjacks but you can give them to people :) Its because you need a hygiene certificate I believe.

Watch your stuff! Have one person talking to people while one unpacks because people will be buying stuff before you even open the care. I've had stuff stolen because we were both preoccupied selling stuff.

Take a chair! It can get boring lol.

I thought as a one off you can sell things like food? Maybe no flapjacks then! Am goin with OH so we can keep our eye on stuff! My sister told me to write a list of what I'm taking and tick things off when they sell so I know if somethings been nicked! I was like what's the point in that when it's already gone?!

definitely keep your eyes on your stuff as around here people are like vultures and wanting to buy stuff before your set up! make sure you take lots of change & carrier bags x

Im not sure then, you might be able to! but Ive seen people being told not to sell them. I always thought about making cakes and selling them at carboots but theyre so strict on it :( Oh, take a blanket or 2 to put stuff on the floor without having to put it on the grass. Always makes it look nicer on a blanket.

Yes! Carrier bags! I forgot them last time I went and people were so peed off.

Lots of change, carrier bags and yes put blankets down.

You'll not believe how many people who to car boot sales buying with £20 notes and expect you to be able to give change!

I really enjoyed my 1st car boot. Have fun. x

I've Already got a big stash of carrier bags! Would you price things up or let people ask? Have got a lovely picnic blanket I'm gona put stuff on ;)

We went on Sunday and realised we'd taken hardly any money, how stupid were we?! But I got my bargain coat and OH got some DVDs so we were happy!

I price things up as i know some people don't like asking, my OH for instance will never ask how much stuff is unless he really wants it! x

Also if your going to be selling clothes, separate them into sizes as more people will look x

Yeah, put prices on. Always but a little more than you'd want as people will haggle.

If you were selling any baby clothes you could have boxes with simple things like babygrows/vests in and have them as like 2 for £1.50 or something. Thats what I did and I sold loads! I ahve about 3 boxes with different ages in.

Be prepared to do deals on things too and don't be biased/snobbish about it either..... went with a friend who wanted 50p per item for baby clothes, and sometimes she would offer people 3 for £1, but the one person who showed significant interest, my friend decided was chavvy and didn't want her to have her things, so refused to drop them to even 3 for £1. In the end we came home with most of what we went with

Omg I can't believe she wouldn't sell her things cos she was chavvy!! Pennies are pennies! Am going to take some of my monkeys to sell too cos I didn't see a single one there on Sunday! Inwas goin on at OH the other day saying it was going to b our USP

On the brightside, she gave me loads of Next clothes
