OK so I have a bunch of stuff I'd love to sell but haven't ever sold at one! Any tips? Do I need to bring my own table? That's the only thing I don't have! Should I make up a float of some change or do people come equipped with change?

Any suggestions appreciated!

hi hun yes you need a table and one bit of advice is when you get there dont open your car straight away because you will have it full of traders so wait about 10/15 mins before you unload and yes you will need a float lots of small change

were going to a car boot this weekend , to see what goes on as we want to do one soon too !!! let us know how u get on !

oh , i was gonna say , do u price stuff up with lil stickers or do u just have people ask you ?

probably best to have people ask yo then that way you can haggle the price.

put stickers on everything people can always knock you down some people dont like to ask prices so will be put off buying if they have to, plus if you have stickers if the traders all jump on you at the start instead of you giving your stuff away for pennies because they have confussed you you can just say the price is on them :)
i love doing carboots
xx

normal buyer hun but some of them go to every carboot and now how to get something for nothing and put you off so you have to be on your toes :)
dealers are the ones that will buy stuff cheap then sell it on for a profit :)
xx

Hi

I used to do carboot sale all the time before i had my daughter. Phone the place that is holding the bootsale as some places already have tables. Traders normally are people who have either own stalls at the bootsale and buy off you to sell at a profit on thier stall or if they have a shop or something. i found it easier to price items before hand as if you are unsure or sound unsure when somebody asks you about a price they normal try and get it really cheap, I used to love selling, remember to have a laugh, it can be daughting at first, but hopefully it will be good fun when you get into it.

Hope this has helped.

I'm gonna do my first car boot on bank holiday monday if the weather is good :D

I've started doing them. You do get other sellers swarming over your stuff before you even unload. I take quite a bit of change as people come with £20 notes and stuff. What i do with some of the big stuff is stick prices on, but slightly higher than what you'd take, so people will haggle you down to what you actually want for it.
I had a Graco swing for Angel. She never used it. Only wanted a fiver for it as it was given to me, so i priced it up at £7. It sold for £5!

i like doing car bot sales but HATE the beginning when you first arrive as be warned, EVERYONE that is already there to buy will SWAMP your car & it can be very daunting. I normally stand back & let the other half deal with those guys as i really dont like it. After that its fine. We dont price stuff up & to be honest ive not seen anyone with their stuff prices at the places i go to but once again i rely on the OH as if i cant think of a price off the top of my head i shout him & ask him what "we" want for the item :)
They are a good way to make money though... oh & the ones we go to you always have to take your own tables etc & we always take a float.
