I'm 8 weeks gone and can eat food and keep it down, as soon as I drink even water it bounces, I had this with my last and was told it was hypremisis and that it is a phycological problem, dont know what to do as i can feel a water infection coming on already :-(

Try some ice cold milk..

It works really well for me when I can't keep food down because its sort of half liquid half solid.( milk is actually a suspension, fat particles floating in fluid, which is why it will eventually separate )

It may work for you hun cos its filling fluid x

Hyperemisis is a real condition (though rare) and I've never heard of it being dismissed as a psychological problem! My friend had it and had to be admitted to hospital for a few days due to severe dehydration. If your symptoms really are as bad as you say I'd seek a second opinion as not being able to keep down water can cause severe problems. xx

A work collegue of mine had hyperemisis and also had to admitted to hospital to have IV fluids as she couldn't keep anything down. I think it's a pretty serious condition so I would also seek a second opinion.

I wasn't keeping fluids down and was admitted to hospital on a drip for 4 days, it did make me feel better but it wasn't pleasant id rather have avoided it. My admission notes said it was hyperemisis and I was just told it meant severe morning sickness. Best advice is try and drink sips all the time even if it seems futile as some will get absorbed, and seek a 2nd opinion get ur Dr to test ur wee for keytones so u know if ur dehydrated or not.

i had a very bad case of it with my first pregnancy, when i was 5 weeks, i was admitted to hospital for 6 days with an iv. i had to stay in hospital as i didnt have enough fluid around the baby they were very worried.
I carryed on being sick right untill my baby was born (shes now 4 :) )

I found that if i sipped orange oasis it helpped and warm milk. it took lots of different drinks to find out what would stay down. water was a big no no as it just bounced.

I take it you have tried frozen drinks and ice cubes?

I remember a lady being admitted to hospital when I was preggers with Rosie, she was early on but was dehydrated so was hooked up to an IV drip - it is a serious condition
