Yesterday i was rushing to get to the hospital to see my mum.. I reversed my car to get out of a parking space on my street but i slightly tapped the car behind me on the front bumper.
It wasn't even a thud or anything, just a very light tap.
I got out and the other woman was looking furious... she looked at her front bumper and pointed out all these imaginery scratches. I'll admit her registration plate looked dirty from dirt off my back bumper, but she claimed that i'd scratched all the side of it to.
Now i know for a fact i never did these marks, as it was physically impossible.
If you imagine my back bumper being curved, and her front bumper being curved too, then only the registration plates touched each other...... so it is impossible for my car to have made marks along the side of the bumper as the cars would just not have touched anywhere else.
Anyway she took my details...... and i have 4 years no claims, so am i going to lose it all for this pathetic woman?
Can i argue and deny these imaginary marks??

Yes you can hun, basically your insurance will try and argue your case until either one gives in thats there job.

Hiya hun,

If you tapped her bumper then you probably cant argue the fact that there may have been slight damage. However, if i were you i would contact her or her insurers and ask to see a copy of the estimate and engineers report. If its minimal damage then her insurers probably wont get an engineer to inspect, due to the cost, but some insurers now have inhouse engineers where its all done by images.. requst a copy of these.

I would just make it as difficult as you can for them.. good lucK!

If you've swapped details I would say you've already admitted liability so regardless of amount of damage you'll lose your no claims :( . I would get your no claims protected.

you have to swap details whether its your fault or not, thats up to your insurers to battle out

awww kimmmmmi.... ya should of just got in your car and ran her over!

:rotfl:  :rotfl:  :rotfl:  :rotfl:

xxxxx kisses to leah.... we missin her :rotfl:

It doesn't make any difference that you've swapped details, I believe you're obliged to.

If you claim you didn't do the damage she's suggesting stand your ground with your insurers, they cannot settle her claim without your say so, so if you fill in all the necessary paperwork and can convince them you're telling the truth and she's not to get prior damage repaired.

we're involved in a claim at present where the 3rd party is lying- grrrr winds me up thinking about it especially as we work together! how effing cheeky can u get rrrrrarr

unfortunately i think this is usually the way, did u not get a witness? or was there cctv? we were very lucky to have got an independent witness who was very keen to point out her wrongdoing which i am really grateful for coz u kno, he doesnt kno us, theres nothing in it for him, he didnt have to offer himself he couldve turned a blind eye and all that but he didnt he approached us and without him that lying bitch mightve gotten away with it

usually tho, if there are no independant witnesses and neither party accepts responsibility, claim is settled 50/50. unfortunately in terms of no claims 50/50 is still "fault", so u still lose them :(

fight, fight fight! dont let liars win
