Never had hayfever in my life until this weekend! And i cant stop sneezing i am worried about straining by belly! I dont get to see midwife until 3rd Aug and i wont have time to go doctors coz of work so i wondered if you ladies have suffered similar?

Pfffft...gayfever more like i feel like i am underwater lol help!!!

I have always suffered from hayfever and the year I was pregnant was no exception. I asked my GP and was told there was nothing I could take. A few weeks later I was at consultants appointment and she could see I was really suffering. She asked me why I wasn't taking anything! She prescribed me piriton tablets and said the only problem is that most drugs have never been tested on pregnant women but there is no evidence to say the tiny quantities will harm the baby. It is up to you but I chose to take the tablets and had instant relief.

I took piriton my whole pregnancy. On advice from my doctor. I have chronic urticaria and really struggle with nettle rash.

thanks ladies i just feel so stuffed up and horrid, along with the bloating and rumblings of nausea ( finally ) its getting to me lol

u can get a balm , its abit like vaseline in consistency, from the pharmacy that u rub around ur nostrils and that really helps. completely safe for pregnancy. cant remember the name but its in a little tub with a yellow lid. im sure if u ask at ur local pharmacy they will tell u. x

that sounds good! i will get to boots tomorrow, my nose feels like someone is holding a feather under it lol

My brother is a doctor, he says we can definitely take piriton - however it does make you drowsy.

I have been taking beconase which is a nasal spray. It seems to work well for me :)

thanks i am going to have to go get some as it is driving me crazy my nose is so sore :-( thanks for all your help ladies :-)

I've been using haymax too.... works really well but obviously doesn't completely get rid of it :( I've also been using Optrex eye drops for itchy eyes as all they contain is witch hazel (sp?) and no drugs at all. They're great too. Although one day I'd forgotten my haymax so just used lip balm and it worked the same! And a good pair of big, wrap around sunglasses - I never leave the house without them. I started with hayfever at 20, it's soooooo annoying! sympathies!!
