Can I still claim Maternity pay if.....

I quite my job? i started there 15th october 2007 and left nov 2008. my due date is 26th march 09. Does anyone know if i can still claim for something? at the moment im not working and wont be able to get anything permanent till after bubs is born.
But really need some money!

As far as I am aware if you were working during your 25th week of pregnancy then you still get SMP. If you left before then you will probably have worked enough weeks to claim MA

You should be entitled to maternity allowance, i gave my job up in August and had been with them for 2 years, as long as you have worked 26 weeks in the test period for maternity allowance and have pay slips and matb1 you should be entitled to it from 26 weeks i think (or im hoping anyway).

Yes honey, Sara is right, you should still get maternity allowance. I'm in the middle of filling out my forms right now. You have to meet a "test period" requirement which is if you have worked at least 26 weeks in the 66 weeks before the week you expect to have your baby. xx

Thanks for that guys, got my MATB1 form from the midwife last night, and getting other half to print off the MA1 form tonight, so should be sorted in claiming.
