Can i do this hobby when pregnant .....?

Hubby and i do clay pigeon shooting, and i really want to do some more this weekend as its been a while and ive virtually given up my other hobby (Horseriding)

Its not the danger side of things i'm worried about but the noise and shockwaves

Can i do this hobby during my 1st trimester ??

Just had a look around the web. Most of the sites that offer those experience thingys, lastminute, etc say that pregnant women should avoid doing clay pigeon shooting. But I guess this might be overcautious

I would ask your doc - they could give you a definitive....
Not something I have ever tried - so maybe when preggo wouldnt be the best time for me to start!!!!

I'd phone and ask your MW or GP what they suggest.

TBH the noise should not hurt as baby won't hear anything for a long while yet. And I'd have thought being so tiny also with mucho cushioing to protect something like the kick from the gun won't hurt either, but I am not a medical expert so don't take my word as gospel. Ask your GP or MW.

FWIW I was dealing with horses, pigs, sacks of feed etc in first tri and didn't slack off lifting and carting anything etc. Just carried on as normal as much as my energy levels would allow. I had stress on my torso in various forms and was fine. I'd have probably gone clay pigeon shooting at that time if it was something I did on a regular basis normally.
