Depending on your earnings you might be entiltled to help with your rent?

We get help but they only offer up £600 when bubba arrives which is good but struggling to find a two bed room place for this price :(
But have finally seen a few places on right move but I have noticed some say no dss l(which us housings benefit) , no pets and most worrying no children :| this could be hard x

Check out places like gumtree too, there are often private landlords advertising their houses there.

Wow 600 round here would pay for our rent on our 4 bed house and 150 squid left L
Lol

Wow 600 is expensive! I pay 550 for a three bed house in a good area x

I used Rightmove, but I've also googled for local estate agents and then looked on their websites for local properties

I pay £595 for a 2 bedroom cluster house!

Ditto that, rents where I live are crazy expensive  not good at all.

Try rightmove as the ladies have said, zoopla, primelocation, findaproperty.com

I would also suggest gumtree like a previous post mentioned. Any property with an estate agent you will have to pay agents fees, referncing, deposit and a months rent in advance. If you and your oh dont earn 3x the rent amount you'll need someone of a higher income to be your gurantor. Hopefully with a private landlors through gumtree you may be able to avoid such excessive costs.

Even if posts say no DSS, no children etc still call them up and try to view the property. Let them know you will be getting help in paying rent but the £600 the council will give you say it can be directly to the landlords bank account rather then yours if that will give them some reassurance.
If landlords are struggling to rent there property they will rent to people with children if that's the only interest they get.
Most landlords don't want children because they have to pay larger amount of insurance as children are more likely to damage a property especially if its furnished.
