Camcorder f up

I got a camcorder off ebay about a week before I gave birth and have been getting really short little vids on the memory card ever since. Just 30 second pieces of the baby - this is Jasper at 2 weeks old, this is him pushing himself up on tummy at 5 weeks old, that sort of thing. I just tried to download the first ten weeks (about 15 clips) and it wouldnt work because i hadnt formatted the memory card first, and to do so it then wiped everything off. Am now crying my eyes out, feel like i have just wiped out all those memories and we'll never get those precious first few weeks back.

Tell me it isnt worth getting upset about!

arent there places you can take it to to recover deleted items?...i may have just made that up but im sure you can!?? xx

It had to wipe the card clean to format it. I'm quite good with the technology but there is no way to get this info back now I've gone ahead and wiped it clean, sob sob. Why wasnt i patient enough to take it in to someone and get the clips taken off before i formatted it for my pc?

Dont beat yourself up over it

just make sure you take extra vids of LO now to make up for it xx

Thanks hun, I want to wake him up right now and start again. Am just so sad. Lost a priceless moment where he watches the national anthem on tv for the rugby and cheers, and when my husband starts singing and he goes from smiling to tears in seconds. Would have been such good viewing later in life. Oh well, I'm sure there will be other moments, but he will never be 2 weeks old again, and three weeks old, and four weeks old.......... Whaaah!

yeah you should be able to my oh is a computer tech and says its really easy. if you look at the link it explains that its all still on the card just tells ur device its clean to record over it so if you haven't recorded it should still be there.

Well you were right, it found them all! But sorry to sound cheap (especially as I will pay if there is no other way) but did you say they could be retrieved for free? The Stellar Pheonix recovery programme wont let me save them unless i pay a £39.99 registration fee

I wasn't sure about that website not something we used. My oh said he will do it for free if you want to just send it to us. Sorry I dont know enough to tell you how but he will be glad to do it.
