Calpol!

Alice has been full of cold for all this week and last night screamed in pain and nothing helped even tho she had burped loads, so today she has been the same so i looked up Calpol and it said from two months over 4 kg... She weighed 4.4 when she was born and is massive now in 3-6 month clothes, so i gave her some... i know im terrrible but what does two week matter when she is so much bigger than a two month old... and she has gone from so upset and red hot to clamly swinging away all cool and happy in about 10 minutes...
do you think it will do her any halm? x

As a one off don't think it will do much harm did u give her 2.5 ml ? Had Alice got a temp ? Could always take a layer of clothing off to help cool down xxx

Im sure I gave my first LO calpol a week before she turned 2 months, I dont see the harm, as you said, what diff does a few days make. The reason they say that is because they have only tested the medicine on babies over 2 months so they dont know the reaction of babies younger.

I gave Cubbie some calpol at 7 weeks, he was really ill with a cold. He was 4.65 kilos at birth so a really big boy, and there was no way I was going to let him carry on screaming in pain. I only gave him the small spoons worth and only one dose and it did the trick. Try not to worry too much, the main thing is them covering their own backs because they haven't tested it.

I just gave her one lot of 2.5ml, she is 7 weeks so only a week less but well above the 4 kg mark, she was screaming in pain so gave her it, 10 minutes later she was calm swinging away, took her milk (which she wouldn't) and slept soundly from 10.30 to 7am this morning and seems much better today. Took her to the doctors and he said its just a cold and she is healthy and no temp etc, she probably did last night tho like i said she seems a lot better taday.

I dont want to give her it all the time, it says two lots a day but im not going to give her any more uness she is screaming in pain and i have tryed everything else. I couldn't leave her like that she was sending herself bright red.

I had stripped her off to cool down but she still cryed and nothing would help, tryed Infracol and after a few hours that hadn't worked.
