Calcification of the ventricles?

Hi,
I'm just after a bit of information if anyone can help.... My friend has just had a little girl 8 weeks early and Doc's have said they're concerned about some calcification of her ventricles that showed up on her brain scan. She doesn't really understand what this could mean and in typical Doctor style they just keep saying 'Wait and see'. Although I don't want to scare her if it could be serious she feels she'd prefer to be prepared. Does anyone have a child that ahd this or does anyone know anything about it? Any advice would be great.
Thanks

calcification usually means calcium deposits but ive never heard of it in the ventricles. could it be like fluid in the ventricles?

my daughter had fluid in her ventricles due to an IVH bleed as she was extremely premature, they also told me to wait and see and they are still saying it 12 months later. the fluid has gone and scans show no obvious damage but as you know, the brain is very complicated and any damage may not become apparent for years yet.

sorry i couldnt help you more, maybe tell your friend to sit the doc down and have him put it in laymen's terms?x
