So the midwife who is visiting says my scar is healing fine.. but all along the incision line there is this solid mass.. kinda tender when im bending etc..

Anyone know what it is? Is it normal?

Kat is lump like in one place or all along, as it sounds just like your scar tissue, and fine. keep an eye on it tho

its all the way along, but really thick either side, starts like an inch above the scar and like i said.. sore :(
hopefully it will calm down soon

Mine was like that, i can still feel a line under the skin. If I run my finger along my scar I feel bumps, I don't know if I had staples or stitches. It will feel better soon xx

It sounds like the scar tissue that runs underneath....i can still feel a line on my scar (can see the dots were the staples went in aswel) xx

omg staples? i was lucky then, got a beaded stitch thingie lol

I had disolvable stitches this time, last time I had the beaded long stitch like Kat. You will still be quite swollen underneath the skin, if MW thinks it's fine I wouldn't worry too much about it. Your uterus might not be not fully contracted yet, I had this, it was contracting down but not fast enough and it turned out I needed a course of antibiotics for uterus infection. It was still very tender when she examined me and felt where my uterus was. Have you any other symptoms? X

Ive been on anti biotics, they finished yesterday, symptoms wise just tender, and ive got a bit of dehli belly lol

omg staples? i was lucky then, got a beaded stitch thingie lol

It looked like a zip! but healed really quick, had my section on a fri night and they was out weds mornin xx

sounds normal and can often be worse on one side because they work more from one side than other your delhi belly is prob from anti biotics

My belly was off for a bit, everything has to settle back onto place just takes a little time to adjust. I was feeling much better after 4 weeks post section. Serenity is right about one side being more sore/bruised as they usually work from the one side - I was more tender on the right this time. I was discharged after 2 days this time, it was 3 days with my first. I was mainly discharged this time early due to Ethan, I just didn't want to stay on a Mat ward when Id just lost my baby. Physically I was well enough to go home.

yeah I had stables too had them in on the sat and out on the tues and my scar is so neat and small but i had a drain in too and that caused a bit of bruising and also I still am numb top and bottom of the scar its weird, im sure that you will be fine and that it has healed properly, xx

My tum never did regain that non numb feeling , guess it will always be numbish, but have been floating on my tum side down in bath while I can to make the most of it, as i couldn't do that for ages after my last one as it was all tight! Why did I plan to do this again!!

Kat, if your scar goes red and gets very warm/hot underneath go back and get it checked for infection, as it easily happens.

I'm getting disolvable stitches with some silly loops at the end this time apparently! it's different each time!
