After my sicky baby thread we decided to try SMA staydown. It was absolutely useless. It needed to be mixed at just out of the fridge temperature and then heated up to LESS than room temperature slowly over 40 minutes! If we mixed it too hot it was too thick and she couldn't get anything out (too hot=room temp!!).

Anyway, today we bought some C&G comfort to try. She's just had her first feed with it, only took about 4oz (usually takes 6oz, sometimes 7oz) and hasn't brought any of it back - touch wood! Any advice? If you used it, how did your LO do with the changeover?

Harrison went on it at 2 weeks old as the normal C&G gave him bad wind. The only thing I noticed was the change in poo, it wreaks be warned.

it's thicker so it's normal that she's taking less. She'll adjust and up her milk intake like harry did no doubt.

It can also make their poo green.

I didn't find the Comfort worked for us - so I switched her to Aptamil Easy Digest, no idea how different they are, but it worked!

You might find you need a bigger teat than normal. We are using Dr browns size 2.

Hi Hun, Hope you and Becky-Boo are ok xxx

It took about 3 days or so to notice and improvement with the comfort milk. It really really worked for us. You do have to make it with fresh boiled water (as per the pack) then cool under tap. Sometimes I make it with boiled water around an hour before feed is due then its about the right temp at feed time.

As laracomps says I did need to get bigger teats as it was taking about an hour for 1 feed with a size 1 teat so now were on size 2 (Tommee Tippee CTN).

He did take less of the milk at first. But now about 4 weeks later he's taking a whopping 8oz at a time!!! And his weight gain is increasing, he was only gaining 2-3oz per week, now its 10oz per week (he has a lot of catching up to do, he's only 12lb10).

Also he sleeps 12hours a night - no more night feeds xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Good luck babe x

The difference was immediate for us (changed from SMA gold due to reflux and constipation)

He was all round happier, although his nappies were grim, it makes them smell like rotten eggs :puke:

Thanks everyone. Still no pukies, just lots of dribbles! We were using level 2 teats anyway so didn't have a problem with that thankfully, unlike the SMA stuff that was practically the consistency of angel delight when mixed correctly!

Thanks again xx

P.S. Minxy she is absolutely OBSESSED with that play gym we got from you. It didn't help her addiction we went to Holland only to find SIL has exactly the same one in dutch! :rotfl:

Been fine!! Nappys are HORRID :puke: He took less, I guess because its thicker.

Bless her! Am so pleased it's being loved and used, Stanley just used to yawn and pointedly look away

Nappies are minging. It worries me it being so runny. Off to HV tomorrow, I'm tempted to ask for infant gaviscon and go back to the SMA.
