My OHs mum wants to buy us the pram as its one of the last big things that we haven't got yet. I don't want to spend her money though if I was to ask she would be saying £200 worth or pram!!! We will use a sling quite a bit as I think I will like the closeness and the ease of it so we just need a pram for days out and visits and stuff I have seen one in Argos for £30 reduced from £40 it looks pretty sturdy and is from birth to 3years. Do they have much lasting power? Are they a alright pram? Also to me it looks like it will be pretty simple to fold up and down the more expensive ones confuse me!!!

Anyways heres the link what do you reckon?

what youve got to look at for practicality is if you have a car does it fit in the car boot, is the handle height ideal for you (no slouching to push), do you kick the back folding bar as you walk and is it padded enough and sits upright enough and lays flat enough for baby, TBH i bought a Loola last june and did not think of the handle height thing or the upright position for baby and ended up selling it 4 months ago, also i would highly recommend trying it out in a shop for the weight and how it is to push, wish id done that with the loola. HTP :D

i just prefer single handle bars and its a height adjustable one. 8)

it looks fine to me hun especially if your nt going to using it much

The buggy looks ok from the pic but if I were you I'd want to see it before I chose it, especially if your MIL is willing to buy you something nice. It's admirable that you don't want her to waste her money but you're probably going to use the buggy more than you realise at the moment. Babies get very heavy so a sling isn't going to be practical forever so you may as well have a nice pushchair for later on.
You need to see if you can get all the accessories easily enough, it doesn't seem to have a foot-muff or rain cover.- Check the cost of these too. Also, as someone else said, height of handles and weight are major factors when choosing a buggy. If you chose your buggy wisely you can get one that's not too expensive but suits your needs, but you could also end up spending lots of money on a totally crap buggy too.

My MIL managed to pick up a second hand graco travel system for £40, it had originally cost £400. I'm glad she didn't buy it new because it was a complete pile of rubbish. I swore I wouldn't have another Graco when I fell preggers with my daughter and put aside enough money for a big posh pram. I went into TRU with my money and ended up coming out with a Graco Mosaic travel system for £170!!! It's the "budget" one but it's totally fab, easy peasy for town and buses etc, really light and fairly stylish.

My sister has that pram for when she gets the bus (they don't have walk on buses near her). She doesn't use a sling though only a pushchair.

It's ok and she's had it for about 6 months now. It's quite light as well and fairly easy to fold but i think it does feel cheap. I also doubt she would use it as her main pram.

I use a sling most the time with Lola as it's much easier that using a pram in shops etc. If i do need to use a pram i have a silver cross pop but i think it's only suitable from about 4 months as it dosn't go completely flat :)
