Hi girls,

just been asda got a bit butternut squash.

Harleys soon to be ready for dinner.

how do i do it????

how long in oven or is micrwave faster??????????

Hiya
I'd slice it and roast it in the oven :)

I normally slice it in half length wise, scoop out the seeds and bake in the oven for about 30 mins.

iv just served it, its cooling down.... i stabbed it and put it in the microwave whole for 13mins then cut in half scooped seeds out then the rest iv scooped into bowl???

this ok to give him????

If it's soft and mushy then it's fine :) Bon Appetit Harley :cheer:

its soft and mushy, quite lumpy though and a bit thick??? but i think he will be ok with it???

Yay!! :cheer: I was going to say about mixing some of his normal milk through it if it was too thick, but as he's fine with it then there is no point.

Well done hon!

dont suppose the left overs can be saved in fridge can they??? theres loads

You can freeze it hun. I make up batches of veg in ice cubes & defrost them when as and when I need them. I also put some in jars and keep in the fridge, it will keep for a couple of days no worries.

In the last lot I did Butternutsquash, sweet potato & a bit of normal spud. Carrot, brocilli (sp?) & parsnip.

I found thses type cubes fantastic -

I've got a lovely soup recipee for buternut squash. It's so easy and babies love it too.

*Peel and dice your butternut squash and roast in oven until quite browned.

*Peel and dice a large potato (or 2 medium potatoes)

*Put both Butternut Squash and Potato in a saucepan and add about a pint and a half of vegetable stock ( i normally just add 3 tsps of Veg Bullion to water as it's more flavoursome) and boil until it's all nice and soft. (You can add more water if you like a thinner soup)

*When done, put it all into a blender and blend until smooth.

It's really lovely, me and DH often have it for lunch and it's really healthy and filling.

Good luck! :D
