I had a 6 week scan 2 weeks ago due to a previous history of 3 miscarriages and an ectopic I lost a fallopian tube to. They scanned me at 6 weeks due to being high risk. Heartbeat was seen and all in the right place, but yesterday I started having dark brown gritty discharge, it hasn't been heavy but it's been persistent ever since. Some period like cramping and lower back pain followed, and the hospital asked me in. They checked my pulse, BP and felt my stomach. They referred me to EPU but they said they couldn't see me until Monday. I feel like I'm going out of my mind not knowing. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation, and if so what was the outcome?? I just want honesty, I'm not hopeful at this point, but just want to prepare myself as best I can. Thanks.

Hi nat. I've had bleeding in this pg early on and all was ok. Brown discharge should be old blood as I'm sure you know. Definitely a good idea to prepare for the worst as I have done the same on previous occasions but I'll keep my fx for you. Keep us updated x

You poor love..that's a lot to go through :( I recently lost my tube with an ectopic as well and it was awful.

Hopefully you'll get some good news Monday. My experience of something similar that happened to me some years ago did not have a positive outcome - BUT there are countless women who've had what you describe and have gone on to have healthy pregnancies. I have my fingers crossed that's the outcome for you as well. Hang in there xx

Oh bless you. I had spotting earlier this week as well but can't be scanned as only 5 weeks today. I'm so sorry you have to wait until Monday.

It's always good to prepare for the worst, but please don't give up or lose all hope just yet. Plenty of women experience this and have perfectly healthy pregnancies, so yes, prepare for the worst, but hold on to a little ray of light as well.

I've had various bleeds, spotting, brown, fresh gushes, you name it! This is my fourth pregnancy and I've only had one tri 2 loss due to a sc haemorrhage. No bleeding in first healthy pregnancy, third pregnancy turned out fine despite bleeding and hopefully this one is too. All you can really do is hope for the best, prepare for the worst. It's such a worry though. Take care!

Thank you all so much for the support, I took a 4 hour round trip this morning for a private scan as the stress was eating away at me... Best decision I've made, got to hear and see the heartbeat - 167 bpm and everything as it should be at this stage. Over the moon, thank you all again!! ❤ xxx

That's wonderful news xxx

So pleased for you. Its so worrying in the early weeks x
