Help i'm panicking!

I'm almost 9wks (monday) and yesterday I had a bit of brown when i wiped - just when i wiped, not enough to mark mn underwear, but 2 out of 3 times when I weed yesterday there was a bit in tissue.

I googled etc (as u do) and if no pain and only brown, and only wiping rather than "soaking through pads" - its probably old blood and nothing to worry about - perfectly normal in fact. Never had it with my first (now 3). So surprised me.

This morning I weed and wiped and its red/pink - slightly more. Still not "pouring" and certainly not "soaking through pads" - but the colour change and slight increase has me scared.

Anyone else had this ? When do I call a MW ?

Ring mw if it will put you at ease. My midwife has reminded me everytime we have spoke that a bit of brown or red spotting is totally normal, she has saod it almost as if to expect it. She explained that cervix is sensitive so anything can cause a bit of spotting x

It's probably nothing but worth calling your midwife or early pregnancy unit. They will likely give you a scan to check everything is ok. I had to go in this week for one and everything was fine but they did say to call back if there was any more bleeding.

I didnt worry yesterday as it was brown, such a small amount and no pain. Now today its red/pink and more... freaked me out.

But thank you - so at what point (did she tell you) I should be worried ? So if i monitor it today I mean.

I would definitely call the midwife, just in case. They can probably arrange a scan x

I had some bleeding a few days ago at 8 + 4 and called the gp and was referred to the EPU. They offered me a scan on Tuesday but we decided to pay for a private scan yest as I didn't want to wait that long. All was ok. The sonography said it was bleeding from the bruising from implantation which is the main cause of bleeding in the first tri. Most people absorb the blood. I'd def ask for a scan. Xx

Well I called the midwife office, and they can't do anything til Monday. Told to sit tight. The only thing I COULD do is go A&E she said.

She said it's probably nothing, but if I am genuinely concerned, or it gets significantly worse, or pain - A&E...

Not sure if I feel better or worse for calling, so I am "sitting tight"... feeling very sick! :(

If you get more red blood I would probably consider a&e lovely. They can get you a scan there to check of all is ok, although you will probably be admitted and there is often a wait for a scan (speaking from experience) xxx

Blimey! Really... plus i guess there is a wait at A&E as well... especially on a weekend - as I expect all departments are directed there on a weekend.

I guess I try relax and sit tight, and see if it gets any worse...

Thanks all for the advice.. x

Hope it eases off for you. It does seem that a lot of healthy pregnancies have spotting x

I was admitted previously as they automatically assume ectopic if you're in early pregnancy with no scans etc x

Well a trip to A&E confirmed the worst today - well pretty sure.. :-(

They couldnt give me an exact yes, but after an internal examination - theyve sent me home, and booked me in to the early preg unit for tuesday AM. So now I need to just sit tight... :-(

Will update after tuesday....
X

Oh no :( Is this the first time you've started spotting in this pregnancy?

I really hope it's not bad news xx

I think its considered more than spotting now. But i guess i have to sit and wait it out.

Yes first time - i'm 9wks tomorrow.

Didnt have with my first son either.

Really hope it's good news on Tuesday. Did they see if your cervix was open? That was the give away when I was miscarrying a few years back :( xxx

I'm sorry to hear you are going through this, did they not send you for a scan at a&e? Best of luck for tomorrow I'll
Keep my fingers crossed for you. Xx

Oh Melanie!!!! I'm keeping my FX that you only get good news!!

Sorry to hear you're going through this, went through a similar experience myself in march, had a scan at 8 weeks as had bleeding but all was fine, had another bleed at 11 weeks, baby had died at 10 weeks. They did an internal exam before the scan to confirm I'd had a mmc whereby my cervix was still closed and I thought there was still hope because of that, but unfortunately my body was just taking longer to except the reality.

I really hope things work out differently for you, will have my fingers crossed, and thinking of you. X x
