Hi all
I just wondered if anyone else is in the same situation as me...Brody feeds well at night (as anyone in the no-sleep-club thread will know!) But in the day he just doesn't seem that interested in milk.

I'm breastfeeding so I have no idea how much he does have, but I'd say he feeds:
7am 10 mins
12pm 5 mins (sometimes nothing)
4pm 5mins
Between 8-10, 10 mins plus 4 oz formula.

During the night he feeds about 3 times.

In the day he moans if I offer him boob, then moans some more till I offer solids then wolfs it down. I always offer boob bfroe a meal but he's just not interested.

:?

From the first time Dior had solids she has gone right of mil, i never breast feed thou, but al she wanted was solids and juice..

Yeah Aimee is the same, in the night she will drink her bottle no problem but during the day she won't drink them. She well prefers her solids and she not fussy either she will eat anything! She is also getting relly nosey and just keeps turning her head when i'm trying to feed her.

yeah brody is so easily distracted! I can be feeding and Mason will talk to me and that's it, Brody will cry and arch his back and not want to latch on again. :(

Urchin - that's what Olivia is doing, it can even be something so slight as me drinking some water and she looks up at me then arches away and screams then I can't get her to latch back on.

I worry she's not getting enough milk because if this happens only 2 mins into the feed then she wont feed again ... at the moment I'm trying everything to trick her into latching on again - taking her into a different room, lying down with her etc.

Wonder why they're doing this?

Abi is the same i thought it could be because of teething, i have started leaving an hour between feeding solids and milk now instead of both together it seems to be a bit better but she's still not taking much

I think this is mainly Oscars problem too. He is so easily distracted! I get him latched on.... he sucks a wee minute.... looks away.... quick suck.... looks away and so it goes on and on!!

Only way to sort him out when he'l like that is to swaddle him and use boobie necklace that Rosieroo mentioned before - she makes them and sells them on Ebay. I made one myself.
It keeps him busy, but sometimes - he's just plain awkward!!! Menace!!

I am quite sure this is why Oscar is up all night feasting on boobs!

Yes I think this is partly the reason Brody feeds a lot at night aswell.

I didn't want solids to be taking over as much as they are, but it's the only way to get anything into him sometimes.

Hi Urchin,

I am yet to try any solids on Aimee, I have enough trouble trying to get milk down her & am worried that I will have the same prob as you when I start , It is supposed to be a comon problem so your not alone.

Know what you mean about the head turning ! Its so annoying somtimes isnt it - I have to turn the telly of :shakehead:

Thanks for that beanie, very useful!

I've decided Brody is too easily distracted! From now on if I can I need to feed him I'm gonna take him to a quiet room ie bedroom and lie down and feed him.
