I could'nt believe it when the grandmother of the twins wasn't allowed to hold them.Willow's grandparents-and one set of great-grandparents-held her the first few hours after she was born.
I think the 50's method is potentially quite dangerous.My aunt (now ex-aunt) was a mental cow who wouldn't allow cuddles etc.Once everyone was round my gran's,and my aunt put my cousin,who was only a few months at the time,upstairs to sleep in her car seat.She started howling the place down,but oh no,nobody was allowed up to see to her.After some time ,my gran went upstairs to check on her--she had to pretend she was just going to the loo.When she looked in,my cousin had slipped down in her car seat and the straps were pressing into her neck and her face was bright red.It was a good thing my gran went to check on her or she could have strangles herself
