:wall: :wall: :wall: Second round of antibiotics and water infection still hasn't shifted  Please don't tell me that this happens all the way through and is going to ruin my pregnancy? :wall: :wall: :wall:

It's not just not wanting to be on antibiotics all the time, it's the antibiotics that cause me thrush afterwards, every round without fail  so then I have to treat that but the only thing that agrees with me is the pessary then I am worried about how far i'm putting it up there

Are the antibiotics that are safe in pregnancy just not as strong as normal ones? Could that be why it's not shifting?

Sorry about all the questions but every time I get a water infection I feel like i'm dying, no exaguration (sp?) I get fly symptoms, my kidneys start to ache, I shivver constantly, I get so scared to wee :(

Please GO AWAY! :wall:

Edited: hehe I havn't edited the typo...but it did cheer me up...I meant flu symptoms lol...I don't go around the house flapping my arms and buzzing :rotfl:

Awww :( Can you not try eating lots and lots of bio yoghurt?! I actually think someone told me to put yoghurt down there if I ever got thrush :| I don't think that's a good idea though.

 I hope it goes away soon!!

Yeah I have heard that too...I'm a lucky girl so never had thrush, but as I understand it, it's cooling and also helps activate bacteria down there, as you are meant to have natural flora.

Hope you feel better soon

Thanks ladies, I'll try absoloutly anything it's so frustrating!

A HUGE LOL at the yogurt down there...made me imagine an advert for *new muller muffs* :rotfl:

Got a case of the Nik Nak knickers?

Try new Muller Muffs!!!!

(woman with relieved expression on face) ahhhhhhhh!

I also have this very wrong image of Barry Scott going 'BANG and the thrush is gone!' - not advocating the use of cillit bang on your bits though....

:rotfl: you should be in advertising!

Love the new blinky in your signature too :D

Hi again, hon. If you can find pure (PURE) cranberry juice anywhere near you, this will REALLY help, and a teaspoon of bicarb in water twice a day will help with the pain as well. Your body is probably starting to get immune to the antibiotics, but the catch-22 is that the infection could be putting your baby at risk! Drink at least 3 litres of water a day, NO sugary foods or drinks (including any juice which isn't completely 100% not from concentrate), NO starchy foods (bread, pasta, potatoes, etc), and take some vitamin c. Your body will start to shift it on its own.

In Lloyds they sell a cystitis remedy that's ok for pregnant women. I think it's their own brand one. My 'friend' has a problem with UTI and is pregnant and swears by it!

You cow! I nearly choked on my crisps then! :rotfl:

Cranberry juice....it's brilliant. Down as much as you can. We have pint glasses at home, I usually down 2 of those every few hours if I've got a really bad water infection.

Lol at the yoghurt, never heard of that being used down there before!

xx

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh my goodness! I'm in stitches at the Bang and the thrust is gone!!! Noway...oh if it wasn't so late i'll ring my Mum and tell her!

Hi Melissa...

Tried hard to find pure cranberry juice but it's just not happening...places sell pure orange and apple juice...why not cranberry...do they not know I have a water infection? lol..I will keep trying because it sounds nicer than the juice drink crap and I did look at the label and your right its packed with sugar! I'm still trying to be brave enough to try the bi carb :puke: <---i'm sure that will happen straight after...is it any worse than drinking disolvable tablets such as cocodamol or paracetamol? I can just about stomach them (when i'm not pregnant).

Shopping list:

PURE cranberry juice
Bicarb soda,
bio yogurts
cilit bang....no no kidding :rotfl:
cystitis remedy

My poor foof foof :(

:rotfl: :rotfl: Still can't stop laughing, oh I hope I never see that advert again...especially if i'm eating something or drinking, I might choke like m&m's lol! :rotfl: Oh thats one of the funniest things I have heard!

I found this
A diet which consists of processed food like cheese, chocolate, dairy products should be avoided. You should also avoid spicy food, caffeine, alcohol and cigarettes which otherwise is also harmful. Avoid carbonated drinks like beer, soda or any other drink with fizz.

It also talks about aspartame (the devil as I call it) which is in pretty much everything that's got sweeteners in. It's apparently an irritant for UTI so avoid fruit squash or fizz and sweets.

Blimmin heck...My new diets gonna be

Breakfast: water
Dinner: water
Tea: Water
Supper: Water
Snacks: Water
Drink: Water

Bang and my bloody bladder exploded lol...All that water may just work though hehe, I just love my food too much!

Thanks for that, I will keep it in mind next time I have something to eat

Oh I just noticed you said fizz and sweets :wall: :wall: :wall: Noway...I ate a full big bag of haribo the other day because I needed them, maybe thats why it hasn't cleared up like it should! :wall:

Hi sweetie. It's a tough thing to find if you don't have a health food or natural remedies store in town b/c grocery stores don't sell it (I have to go to our 'Health Emporium' to get it here) and neither does Holland and Barrett. With the bicarb, if you've ever had alka-seltzer, it takes a bit like that (slightly salty, maybe?). It's not entirely pleasant, but maybe try putting it into some juice b/c it will REALLY help. I hope you're feeling a bit better today! Keep up the water. :D
