Can you start combination feeding when thy are born or will it confuse them and maybe not take to breast feeding? Sorry for the stupid question! I'm hopin to breastfeed this time!
They advise you to get breast feeding fully established which takes about 3 months before you introduce a bottle or a dummy as it can affect the babies ability to latch on properly. Drinking from a bottle (Even a 'closer to nature' one) requires a different way of sucking to get the milk out so can confuse LO. Breast feeding is just one of those things that is a bit tricky at first but definately worth sticking at. There is so much help now if you are struggling with breast feeding.
