iv been put on antibiotics which pass thru breast milk although they are considered safe to still feed with my other daughter is severly allergic to same antibiotic and im so worried if i feed bubs and she is allergic too she will be too younge to cope with the allergy so iv decided as i dual feed anyways to express off milk to
keep my flow going but how long does the antibiotic last in my system when is safe to feed again i feel all over the place with this

I would probably talk to the doctor or maternity ward...do you get some time after delivery where you can get back in contact with them? i would be concerned if i was in your position, and would want to tell someone in case LO takes a reaction.

She might not but what if?

:hugs: hope you feeling better soon.

p.s. other alternative is to ask for different antibiotics, theres loads of different ones

if i were in your shoes hun i would speak to a pharmacist, they are really trained in different drugs (rather than different aliments that are treated with drugs if you see what i mean) and are often incredibly knowledgable about such things... plus you dont need an appointment ;)

Good luck, i dont think antibiotic allergies are herediatory but i would check it out for sure x

think i would just ask someone like docs or something just to make sure :) x

Good shout BigBump, the pharmacists know a lot more about the drugs themselves than the GP's do and will probably be able to answer your questions with more confidence. Hope you get better soon!
