Anyone bought or hiring a breast pump? I'm told the normal manual and electric ones you can buy from the stores are a bit rubbish so was thinking of hiring a proper medela pump (like the ones they use in hospitals). Anyone have any advice on good breast pumps or can suggest a brand they have used? Also what else do I need to buy for breast feeding storage e.g. storage bottles, bags etc?

i've got the avent manual breat pump and it comes with some bottles - never tried b/f before tho so I don't know how good these pumps are

I had the medela mini one and found that pretty good till the mains packed up so then i went and got the avent isis (i think ) manual which was also good.

One word of advice though is don't buy 2nd hand, i have read somewhere that milk can carry a certain bacteria and it gets stuck in bits of the pump that you can't clean, it can pass certain things on to your baby, if i can find it i'll post the link but after reading it i definately wouldn't buy 2nd hand.
