Breast milk smells:(

Recently lo's nappies have been smelling vinegary- now I'm starting to wonder if the heat is making my milk go off before he gets it!! Can that happen? Xx

No breasts make fresh milk all the time it can not go off within the breast itself. It's only any leakage that has been able to sit there in the heat or indeed against the bodies heat ,
Some people may not notice it at all , or it could that it's the milk and not colostrum that sometimes has this odour.
I remember first noticing it when I had my second as I was feeding her through the summer months . So I believe it's related to heat rather than diet . xx

It can happen with frozen expressed milk apparently, but not fresh boob milk xx

It can't go off before LO drinks it. Boobs don't have a use by date on them! x
