Boy or girl nub theory??

Well I had my 20 week scan, and the baby was led breech and in an awkward position after 10 minutes of searching she found 3 lines which she said indicates a little girl she did say "buy pink but keep the tags on" do sonographers have to say this to kind of 'cover their own backs?' as I'm scared to buy now! Lol x
