Boss is stressing me out UPDATED

She's been on holiday this week (in the UK at home) and I've had a million phone calls, and everything I’ve done has been wrong (as she's such a control freak and does everything in the office when she's here that It's no wonder that things sometimes go wrong.) Having said that nothing's ever right for her!
I've got a 18 week scan with a consultant at a specialist paediatric hospital today to check LO's heart, she didn't check the date properly and threw a freak out when she realised that it was a Thursday (which is the day our banking’s collected by G4S) although I was leaving an hour after the latest time they come to collect (she was worried the bloody van might break down and they won’t get here in time!) So initially she asked me to change my appt, which I put my foot down on and said no way.
She's on holiday AGAIN at the end of August (for 2 weeks aboard this time) and she's rung up to ask me to cancel any hospital appointments I have when she's away. Luckily I don't have any, but I think this was a bang out of order thing to ask of me!
She pisses me off sooo much GRRRRR!

I have officially had enough now! I have just found out that they want to install CCTV INSIDE the office. (We had a situation where a voicemail was deleted recently, from inside a locked office. Think it's funny that all the press are talking about at the moment is phone hacking, but in this business someone broke into the office to delete it!) so now I am going to be watched 24/7 which means my control freak of a boss will constantly be able to check up on me! This place is a joke!

OMG, thats shocking!! How dare she? Thats actually really bad, I hope you wouldnt have cancelled if you had any. Hope she doesn't have another 'holiday' while your due to leave or she might as you to stay preganant for while until its convinent for you to give birth x

Im not 100% sure but I dont think they can ask you to do that...you re protected and entitled to reasonable time off for maternity appointments etc in fact here you go :

ARRRRRGGGGGHHHH CAN I PUNCH HER??? ha ha honestly some people and I think the others are right...you have maternity rights and the hospitals dont run by her schedule, how arrogant!!! I used to work for a group of blokes like this in London, NEVER again. Find out your rights off that website and if she keeps on, get hr involved xxx

How frustrating! You could print off something from govt. and say that you're aware of your rights. I understand it must be bloody awkward, but might be worthwhile. What a cow!

Been thinking about this all evening, might talk to OH about going on maternity leave 3 weeks earlier than I originally planned! Just hope OH agrees.

poor you the horrible bi**h

when i was pregnant with my first 16 years ago my boss was a nightmare everything i did was wrong he shouted at me constantly, i even got a warning letter for something i didnt do, i was quite shy then and didnt stick up for myself was only 20 and been there since i left school so was the only work environment i knew. i was glad to leave and wouldnt have gone back for double the money.

you are protected and she cant make you change an appointment if you told her, if things get bad then right it down or email it so you have proof if things do get bad.

I took maternity leave at 31 weeks (well, technically 33 because I used the holiday first) but can understand not being that happy at work.

I had to tell them how to calculate my SMP and its a 40 ppl company!

We can't afford for me to take maternity leave that early esp as I want to take a year off when he's born so the plan was to work as far into Dec as I can, but now I'm thinking about leaving end of Nov. I need to ask OH if hes ok with that tho as it's his money we'll be living on!
