Ok, so a friend of mine just had her baby at 38 weeks. They said her baby was going to be HUGE and she wouldnt be able to have him naturally.....anyways this freaked her out and her sister had taken blue cohosh to induce labour and 5 hrs later...baby was on its way.
Well my friend took it, and that night went into labour. So i was reading about it, and it says not to take before 37 weeks as it causes uterus to contract.....

Has anyone else tried Blue Cohosh? i'd never heard of it before now.

Never heard of it millylillyrose, but I can guarantee we will all be trying it at 37 weeks!!

xx

No, I've not heard of it either. Interesting.

Was her baby mahoosive in the end?

no doctors did scans and everything and said he was well over 8lbs already....she gave birth at 38 weeks to a 5lb 4oz!!!!
How could they be so wrong!!!!!!!! and nearly even give her a c-section because of it. i'd be so mad!

These predictions really get my back up because when you're told you could be having a small/large baby you do shite yourself and wonder if it would be ok...

Not heard of Blue cohosh sounds like a alchopop lol!!

Interesting!! My Mum drank caster oil and went into labour a few hours later!

I'd LOVE to think that I could just leave things well alone and just let it all happen naturally, but I really don't want to be induced (heard some scary stories) so I might look into that, and other things, near my due date!

Oooh and I might mention it to my MW on Thursday. I wonder if she's heard about it?

It doesn't shrink the baby does it?! lol Maybe he WAS an 8lb(er) but the blue coshos stuff made him 5lb!?

x

As tempted as I am to try some of these things, I can't help thinking that if they worked, are are harmless, why don't doctors use these methods?!

I'm going to try the more natural stuff, like sex (no matter how much OH protests!), raspberry leaf and curry!
