Hi I gave birth on Sat morning and had an episiotomy. I haven't had too much bleeding at all but I just went to the loo and after having a bowel movement I then passed a really big blood clot. The midwife said the other day to let them know if it's bigger than a fifty pence piece which it was, much bigger. Do you think I should be worried or is this fairly normal?
Thanks, Sarah xx

Give them a ring and let someone know. I passed a massive one when my mw was doing a home visit - it was almost the size of half of my pad! She saw it and asked about my bleeding. Since the bleeding wasn't heavy she wasn't worried, but did make a note of it in my notes. I think they only worry if you also have a lot of bleeding too. But like I said, best to call and let someone know about it.

Thank you, I phoned and they checked my blood less which isn't much, asked if I had any stomach pain or felt unwell and said it sounds fine. I'm such a worrier tho, I've read about retained placentas and things, and always think it's going to happen to me!!!
