I'm really really confused. Just got up and been to the loo and found a drop of blood. Wiped...then got bright red and a fair amount....wiped again, same, even a little clot...

I'm nearly 6 days away from af and I've never ever been early, I'm so confused!

No idea, hopefully a good sign though? or ib? xx

I suppose we will see, I'll have to wait and see if it gets heavier or continues... I'm absolutely caught out though, I only have one towel in the house, I was planning to get some at the weekend for af coming Thursday and I've never ever been early.

Weird weird,,.

It does seem too early! Hopefully it's not af, fingers crossed for you xx

Seems lighter now.... fx this isn't af, it does seen utterly bizarre for me to come on so early.. going to be a fun day of frequently checking in the loos at work today! Lol

At least if it is af I know that I'll not be on my period of my holiday :)

Fingers crossed its implantation or something. Hope its not AF,8dpo does seem early for it xx

Could be implantation. I once googled implantation bleeding, and accidentally got pictures - yuck - and it did look like red bleeding. good luck! x

Well apart from that initial obviously red bleeding at 0630, it seems to have calmed down. Still getting a little in a pad but it's now fairly minimal and pink not red.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up that it's implantation, I didn't think it could be red like that which is why I was assuming the worst. It's just very unlike me to have a period early, let alone 6 days early.

Keep your fx for me... :)

Fx it's implantation bleeding, but do be aware that it could be a failed implantation and so an early af/chemical pregnancy. When bleeding has stopped, try doing cheap hpt and opk tests every other day. I ovulated on cd9, counting from first day of what was only spotting with my chemical 2 cycles ago. Last cycle, I ovulated on cd15 so back to normal for me. If you track both, you can at least try again as soon as you get positive opk's again.

Fx it's a sticky though xx

I don't think so GG, I think it's just failed implantation... bleeding stopped for a thrilling 3.5 hours during which I hoped it was IB, but then started again properly.

I would have been fine, disappointed but ultimately prepared to get AF on my usual day... But to get this happening 6 days early is a real kick... I've ended up coming home from work because I can't concentrate.

So, ok.... what do I need to do... Do some hpt/opk tests once the bleeding stops?

When I had my scan on 27th July (started spotting on 25th) and wasn't due af until the 30th, they confirmed I was losing a new pregnancy, not a 7 week one, so that's how I had it confirmed that I'd caught twice. Only reason I caught the second time was I had ewcm at what would have been 5 weeks pregnant and so I got some opk's and had a smiley face. We dtd and caught. I ovulated at just cd9. This month, I seem to have returned to normal but I only know because I was keeping an eye on cm and opks.

If I had followed the instructions and started opk's at cd10 to 12 after that first loss, I would have missed my ovulation.

So, if you want to catch the next egg, I would advise starting to use opk's a few days after bleeding ends but I would do occasionally hpt's for the next two weeks as well, unless you ovulate, just in case you're still pregnant.

Trust your instinct though. I knew and wrote on here that I believed I'd conceived and lost twice and it was good to have the scan confirm that. I now trust myself to read my body and listen to it.

Best of luck to you xx

Thanks GG. I'll get some fresh CB opks.

And I guess we will just dtd every other day once the bleeding stops too. I think I just need to put on my big girl pants and get on with it.

How did you go about getting a scan to confirm this was a pregnancy loss? I'm assuming it actually is a loss as it just makes no sense for it to be AF. But I have no way of knowing for sure, I don't know how I'd be able to get a scan....

As soon as I read your post I felt that it was a loss. It's just so similar to mine and many others. My midwife still believed I was pregnant from cycle one but when I told her I'd had a positive opk and negative hpt, she referred me to EPU to check things out. I only spotted with both losses, no clots, never enough blood to even touch a towel so putting everything together and seeing the thickness of my uterine lining confirmed it had been two pregnancies.

Thanks for taking the time to explain to me GG...I guess I am just confused... Do I count today as CD1?

I count first day of bleeding as cd1, same as a normal period as it is still the shedding of the uterine lining. Xx
